Pangkor Laut Resort

We had an all paid trip to Pangkor Laut Resort with my cousins from Dubai. It was a long awaited trip which was planned several months ahead. Heck, we both even went shopping for nice clothes to wear for this trip because my cousin kept reminding us to dress up well.

So the day finally arrived, and of all times, my camera died on me!!! Yea apparently the PCB board broke, so it was lying in hospital for about a week. But anyways we had my cousins SLR camera to save the day. Took as many pictures we could through out the whole trip.

So the journey started with us leaving to Ipoh the night before in our rented Nissan Serena. Stayed over night at the Casuarina Hotel which was rather creepy. Cousin had some weird experience with the connecting door. It was like as if something in the room did not want the doors closed.

Next morning headed our journey out to Lumut. Reached there just in time to check in for the boat. Met my other cousin Fi there.

Boat was moving rather slow. Took about close to an hour to reach the island. But when we finally reached, we were all amazed with the view. Upon arrival we were greeted by the hotel staffs with cold towels and a nice cold refreshing drink. I felt like as if we were some big shots here-Something you do not get everyday! The place was very quite and relaxing. A really superb place to stay actually if you want total relaxation.

So our holiday began. Stayed there for 2 nights. Since we were on a package, all meals were provided. At first we both thought, food may not be enough like that, but boy were we both wrong. We were fed huge portions of food till we all got a bit nauseated by it. Breakfast was the complimentary buffet breakfast, lunch came with a choice of an appetizer, main meal and dessert. Let me stress again, portions were really huge and by the time it was dinner time, we were all still full from lunch. What was interesting with the meals was that the hotel had several restaurants nearby which we could choose from. So basically we manage to try out 3 restaurants. Some food pictures below, but for more pictures, you may view my cousins blog below.

Afternoons were spent by the beach. Spot was named Emerald Bay. A really nice beach with clear green water. We spent the afternoon relaxing and swimming in the water. First day we played "kali-toi" on the beach and even did a race to see who still could run faster. Of course it was still my cousin Lynn. But something bad happened that evening, she tripped over a hole in the sand and sort of tore her hamstring muscle. She was in great pain. Later in the evening we packed up and took her to the clinic doctor. She was given a pain killer jab to ease the pain. With all the suffering she had, nothing still could stop her and everyone from enjoying the trip.

Second day the waves were pretty rough, and guess what we all were doing? Playing the game of who is still standing after the waves hit you. It was so fun. But before this we were in the swimming pool playing "Halabanga". Basically we all jump in the pool to see who makes the biggest splash. I think we sort of disturbed the other hotel guest there who were trying to relax in the pool either that or we made a fool of ourselves once again.

Not forgetting we did some hiking in the morning on the second day after breakfast. It was a simple hike through the jungle track. Had a special guide with us who explained the plants and trees that we passed by.

On the last night after dinner, we hanged around the hotel and ended up at the hotel bar for some quick shots of Tequilla bottoms up. Everyone drank except the kids and me. We just watched them turn red and high. It was a funny sight.

The following day, everyone woke up feeling sad that our trip was coming to and end. We went for breakfast, walked abit and packed our bags and headed to the jetty. It was bye bye to this beautiful island resort. I was such n enjoyable trip. We thank you Lynn and Dave for bringing us along to join you on this unforgettable trip.
