Seems like we are on a duck rice mission. Second post in a row I'm writing of another duck rice place.
This time, it is located along Jalan Susu. It's a small lane just off Macalister Road. Well if your familiar with Macalister Road, Jalan Susu is the road where there is a durian/ fruit seller. Truthfully it was our first time hearing of such a road. Well anyways, there is a small coffee shop called Racehorse Tea which just sells duck rice.
The duck served here is different from our previous duck post. The right word for this duck style would be "Pei Pa Duck". All I can say is that the duck is roasted then deep fried. So the skin is extra crispy when served. Taste wise well the spices used were different from the previous duck rice post. So the taste was totally different.
Besides selling duck, they also sell Char Siew Pork and Siew Bak and Chicken. Just look at the picture below. See the amount of Char Siew he has and how caramelized the edges are. However when I was eating the Char Siew, I somehow got a weird taste in it. Had abit of a chemical taste, or perhaps it was just my fussy-ness with pork.
Well anyways, there is two type of sauces served together with the duck. Sauce No 1, it's thick and starchy. Taste slightly sweet. Sauce No 2, salty-gravy-like Soy Sauce. Chilly sauce on the other hand had loads of garlic in it.
So if you would like to try out this place best you come by before noon, as it is packed during lunch hour.

Hi, I just happened to read your blog. And I agree with you on the taste of the char siew. I'm a big char siew fan, and tried this place upon my friend's recommendation - supposedly the "most famous char siew". It was a disappointment.
