We were both brought to this place to try out the Ipoh Hor fun yesterday which was highly recommended by a friend. Aparently this restuarant was also reviewed in the Rasa Rasa. It is called Rastaurant May Fong. This family business has been running since the early 1970's. Place opens between 10.15am to 6pm and closes every alternate Mondays.
Since we were all pigs that morning, we arrived pretty early and had to wait in front of the closed shop for at least 15 minutes. Then finally the doors opened and we were like hungry wolves barging in the restaurant.
As we sat down, we made our friend do the ordering. This is what we had.
Ipoh Hor Fun- Dry style
Koay Teow noodles were nice and smooth. Topped with shredded chicken, prawns, vegetable and fried onions, there was a strong taste of sesame oil in the noodles which made it all wonderfully tasty.

Ipoh Hor Fun- Soup Style
It did not have that redish oil in the soup which I thought it would have. Did not quite enjoy it as I found it rather tasteless. Preferred the dry Ipoh Hor Fun style.

Oyster Chicken Sauce
Chicken was good. We ordered 1/2 a chicken that morning and it was not enough that we ordered another 1/4. Chicken meat was very tender and tasty with the special oyster sauce poured over it.

Vegetable with Oyster Sauce
The same sauce used for the chicken which is used for the vegetable dish.

Prawn Wan Tan
Soup had a strong sesame oil taste again. But what was good in here were the prawn wan tans. Shaped quite small it was filled with diced up prawns which tasted really good.

Then after eating, we drove just further down to buy back some Soya Bean Milk. Friend said it is famous here. But he advised to drink it up the same day as it would get bad overnight as the shop does not put any preservatives.
Soya Bean Milk was good. It was thick and it went well with the brown sugar. I bought a family packet for only RM 4 and it was a huge packet. Really worth your money. Unable to find this back on the island.
The 3rd food place along this road would be a restaurant called Kim Seng. No- we did not have this the same day (if your wondering). We were actually brought to this place by accident as my ex colleague was actually planning to take us to May Fong Restuarant. But since it was closed that day, we ate here instead. By the looks of it, I would say this place is also popular as there were quite a lot of people here eating the dried koay teow. So I opted to try one plate of it.
Dried Koay Teow
Loved it. The soy sauce used was tasty. And if you like it spicy, they have a special chilli sambal you can mix with your noodles.
