Movenpick Ice Cream
Nyonya Breeze Restaurant along Abu Siti Lane
Nyonya food comes from the Baba and Nyonya clan. If your interested in knowing how the Baba Nyonya were formed you can click to enlarge this photo and read the story.
Here we ordered 6 types of dishes. First dish was the Nasi Ulam. It was good. It has a lot of fresh raw ingredients such as galanger flower (Bunga Kantan), Daun Kadok, Basil leaves, small onions, kunyit, shredded dried coconut, roasted belachan and many more ingredients which I can’t think of already. The ingredients are all mixed together with the rice. This nasi ulam is best served when freshly made.
Second dish, Kacang Botol fried with sambal. This was lovely. Picture tells it all.
Third dish was the ‘choon piah’ or fried spring rolls. It contains minced chicken inside together with onions, carrots, sengkuang slices and other ingredients. You’re to eat this with a special made sauce which is made from Worcheshire sauce which has cut chilly and onions in it.
Forth dish is my dad’s favourite, sweet potato leaves in curry. Curry didn’t taste like those chicken and fish curry taste. This had a blander taste and contained a lot of coconut (santan). Basically a totally different curry taste. It has a lot of sweet potato leaves in it with sweet potato itself and prawns. This dish is something unique and I like it. A must try here.
Fifth dish was the ‘ju hu char’. It’s all about sliced up sengkuang (Malay), Bangkuang (Chinese) or also known as Chinese Turnips (English) together with some sliced carrots, Chinese mushroom, dried squid and other ingredients I’m not sure off. This dish best goes with sambal belachan.
Last dish was the Curry Kapitan Chicken. It was good and tasty, Another recommendation here for this Restaurant. For desert we ordered bo bo cha cha which was excellent, if only I could have 2 bowls!!!!!
So not a bad place to try out someday, Nyonya Breeze.

“Poh Piah” Skin
Have you ever seen how the do the poh piah skin?
Well take a look at my Video below. Sorry that you may have to tilt your head as I can’t seem to rotate this video.
Poh Piah skin is a paper-thin wrapping for spring rolls. This shop is many years old which is a family business of Mr Lim Kim Hoe who has kept the trade in the family for 3 generations. The shop is located along
Additions of Mizi Bistro
Cannelloni Pasta, I rate it mamma mia yummy licious. Thumbs up for it. It’s actually pasta sheets stuffed with spiced minced chicken and topped with cream sauce.
Then the fish collection, fish with Thai chilly sauce. The fish was crisply deep fried to perfection and topped with the thai chilly sauce. It’s good.
So that’s about it to my additions of Mizi Bistro.
Ayu Mee Udang and the Beach
Mee Udang was not bad...I wouldn't really know how to grade it as this is only my third try of having mee udang. We had four huge prawns in each bowl which were very fresh. Gravy here was to my liking as it was not spicy. I could slurp up all the soup.
Beside Mee Udang they have also created other dishes such as Nasi Goreng Udang and Mee Goreng Udang. Common similarity is in the taste as they use the same soup stock. How was the damage (bill), well 3 bowls of Mee Udang with one extra mee and a plate of Nasi Goreng udang together with drinks cost us RM 54.
Water was clear. Another one of those see feet clear water thing. Was walking in the water chasing the fishes when suddenly Ed realized there were a number of bigger fishes all floating around. They were dead. Was a bit weird, so we quickly got out of the water thinking there must be some kind of pollution in the water. bummer, just when I was enjoying myself.
Our friend said this beach in the evening alot of people come to dig for Siput (clams). Cool, must come one evening and do it. Lastly, I think this beach was one of the badly hit by tsunami because it's an open sea.

Roti Bakar Along Campbell Street
Ed and I recently have been having this craving for Roti Bakar and half boiled eggs. So one morning, we drove and tried this Roti Bakar place along
What is special here is that the have a variety of breads to choose from. There’s Wholemeal Bread, Sandwich Bread, Low Calories Bread, Chocolate Bread, Hainan Bread and Chocolate Marble Bread. Our favorite is the Hainan Bread, eventhough this is the only bread we have eaten so far. You can choose to have your toasted bread with butter, kaya or sugar.
The coffee here is superb. They have their own coffee, and it is really pekat and strong. After drinking 1 cup “kopi peng” I felt abit like floating in the air. But it good. Gives you that kick! So this has become one of our favourite spots for Roti Bakar. I think this shop opens until late afternoon too. So if you’re not a morning person you can still come during lunch time.
Seafood at Teluk Bahang
Seafood Restaurant behind/near End of the world. Forgot the name, something like Water World. Located at Teluk Bahang. Turn 3'o clock at the roundabout, straight in and turn left at the end. Restaurant is on the right.
About 3 weeks ago, Ros my friend had cravings for Lobster which I once introduced to her. So she planned everything without letting me and another friend the conspiracy behind this dinner plan. So on the night, I arrived earlier than Ros did. Asked a friend where was Ros and the friend said she was following another friend. So fine for me, then came an SMS from Ros saying she’s on the way stuck in jam and is with a group of friends from KL. Then it got me suspicious wondering if her special ‘hunny bun’ was down from KL [hunny bun is her BF which I haven’t officially met after they got together, well literally speaking]……well to my surprise hunny bun was down!!! Ros planned this whole surprise. It was good, finally got to meet him, but was not fully armed to interrogate him as I felt abit shy. Well I always need to break the ice first before I can be my true self.
So about the food, we ordered 8 types of dishes.
Then we ordered Ma Por Taufu mainly for Ed to eat as he’s not a seafood person as he gets rashes. This dish I didn’t really try as I’m not a fan of taufu, but everyone said it was ok.
Next dish was the Prawn Mantis cooked in Kam Heong style. It was excellent. Not too spicy for me even though it had a lot of chilli padi in it. Prawn Mantis was reasonably sized and deep fried perfectly.
After dinner, we decided to take a walk around Batu Feringghi to shop. Night ended early as we couldn’t think of wherelse to go as it was drizzling. Also the KL people were also feeling tired after a whole day of eating and walking in town.
But this I must thank Ros for planning this surprise for me and Becky. It was something special for us. Well I must also say, Ed also played a role here helping Ros on this conspiracy. Notti people……

Golden Triangle Indochine Rest at Queensbay Mall
Environment here was excellent. Decoration here abit contemporary style. Service was good. The menu had a lot of choices from Thai cuisine dishes to Laotian and Vietnamese. Since mum was craving for Vietnamese Rolls she ordered two type of Vietnamese Rolls, one was steamed Vietnamese Rolls and Deep Fried Vietnamese Rolls. I myself ordered Butter Pineapple Chicken. For dessert we ordered the Mango Glutinous rice and a tam tim krob.
Rolls arrived first. Mum was disappointed as it was not up to her standard. As i know Vietnamese food always has cilantro leaves, however these rolls did not have any. What was in these rolls was minced chicken, salad leaves, groundnut, carrot, and some special sauce. Mum said the rolls she had in Vietnam had a special sauce served separately for you to dip the rolls, here they gave us sweet thai chili sauce which was from the Thai cuisine....huh???
My butter pineapple chicken was good and tasty. The dish was something like the Chinese Sweet and Sour Chicken, except that there was a strong butter taste.
The Mango Glutinous rice here was excellent. Thumbs up for this dish. It cost RM 12 for a serving fit for two. The tam tim krob on the hand was also good, but I gave the Nangka slices to my mum as I'm not a fan of Nangka.
All in all, I would say if you plan to eat here be prepared to pay. What we ordered came out to 70+. Crazy.
The Environment front area
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Seafood Tom Yam (Thai)- soup was excellent, nice and sour and thick....only bad thing was it was damn spicy for me.
2) Stuffed Mushrooms with broccoli (Laotian)- It was normal only
3) Garlic Beef (Vietnamese)- Ok for me but Ed loved it. Beef slices were thinkly cut, charred and topped with fried garlic.
4) Green Curry Chicken (Thai)- It was good. Very rich creamy santan taste. Not spicy. Good for me.
5) Seafood Otak Otak (Thai)- It was served in a coconut. Smelled good, looked good but was a fuel rocket for me. I couldn't enjoy my food after having a spoon of this otak otak. Way to spicy for me. Wished they had cut down the chilly. Then I would have cleaned up inside the coconut. Next morning in the toilet had a 'fine' time.
For desert we ordered the tam tim krob and the mango glutinous rice. Bill came up to RM 148
