Makan Time Part (1)

Ed & Cher..
Last week Friday we (Me, Cher, & Julian went to this restaurant called Seoul Garden @ Gurney Plaza. It’s something like our Penang typical BBQ Steamboat Buffet which is much more expensive. RM35 nett per person. But with the price you pay, you get a good service, very nice food, lotsa choices, lotsa drink (Coca Cola, Sprite, 100 Plus, ice lemon tea and etc), ice cream (6 types) and more.

Some of the food choices

Doesn’t this look yummyyyy??

And more food

The Fugitive is Back!!!!

People People the Hitz.FM Fugitive is back....It's going to start next week. You can win up to RM 50K for just finding the fugitive. AaaaaHHHhhhhhh....

But i'm so dissapointed cos this time around i'll be slaved to my work in the office. Gone were those days back in college when my friends and me use to skip classes just to hunt down the fugitive. The last hunt, me and aunty dugong nearly caught the fugitive at Dewan Sri Pinang. The damn person was upstairs all the while. Me and Aunty dugong and Ahma Dugong didn't think of going up cos we thought, nah the fugitive won't be hidding upstairs. It was all lonely and secluded. The cash amount at that time was RM 17K. Dammit, one lucky fella won the prize as he went upstairs to search. Before that I remember talking to him about the fugitive dilemma.

It's cool when your participating in this...as you're not the only person running up and down hunting the fugitive. During that time, if you're at a spot and see people walking aimlessly carrying a radio and a handphone, they are also hunting down the fugitive. But it gets very depressing when someone else finds the fugitive at a location you were at before!!!!

The game's very easy. Just tune in to Hitz.fm on the clues of the whereabouts. Once a clue is out....out you go to the location you think it is. Once you spot the fugitive you have to approach him/her and say this "Are you the hitz.fm fugitive?" If yes, you have to get the person to call HITZ.FM (

"NEW" Job....

I have a painfull ulser on my tongue. Didn't know it was that bad until lunch today when i was trying my very best to chew the chicken without having to suffer that weird pain. Looks like Bonjela's coming out tonight....

And so about my 'new' job. It's not 100% confirmed yet. Still waiting for HR to contact me on further details. But I cross my fingers all goes well and that i'll be satisfied to what they have to offer me. It's been very exciting at the moment. The thought of chucking my work aside to a new girl. The thought of "worry no more" on my work...and the best thought, telling my director off about the smoking environment in the office. Can't wait....

The 'new' job would be as a buyer. This was the last position I had in mind last time...but as time passed by with alot of nagging from Boo....I started to realise that my career path with the experience I have now would be good for that line. So I started applying vigorously. But for this particular position, my previous boss helped me out. She was advising me to leave this company as she sees alot of potential in me but i'll be stunted if i stay on in the current company. So she helped me to submit my resume. Really need to thank her when it's 100% confirmed.

But apart from the excited-ness, I'm getting abit nervous. Nervous why?
1) Don't know if I can handle the job well. What if I mess up things?
2) New atmosphere and colleagues
3) Have to work hard, stay back, come back during weekends to finish work (as advised during the interview when there are alot of projects running)
4) Will I have time to spend with my Boo in the evenings?
5) Would my gym times be messed up?

I guess I'll have to make some sacrifices. As my Dad says, I'm still young, work hard, climb up the corporate ladder so that later on in life I can enjoy. So I guess I have to embrace all these fears and nervous-ness. Phew adulthood sometimes is hard. One has to juggle with money, decisions, career and one's future as we can't depend on our parents anymore. I've always had this responsibility with me that as my parents grow older and retire, I'll have to take over all expenses and look after them. So being the only child, all finances will be coming from me and not shared by any siblings. What if I don't have enough to support them? I certainly don't want to dissappoint them but give them a good and exciting life for them to retire in. I know my parents love travelling. Hopefully in the future i can afford to send them on a few holidays. That would be exciting.

So is my future good??

Do Mamak Man wear Undies under their Sarong?

The answer's YES

This is hillarious.....last time I always wondered if they do wear undies....now my curiosity is solved.

On the way back home for lunch as I was driving in my housing area I saw a Mamak uncle (old) about to bend down to fix something on his bike. Not that i purposely turned but while driving pass the house, I was curious to what he was doing. Just as i turned my head he bend over and opppssss.....saw his undies, white colour.....hahahahahha. Wonder if he knows that he tied his sarong a lil too high up. Certainly not for old Aunties to see. Their heart might skip a beat.

So case solved

For the one I Love

It's in your arms I want to be tonight,
It's your voice I want to hear tell me it's alright.
It's your presence I want to feel near,
Can you guess who I wish were here?

It's your whispers I want to respond to,
It's your wishes I want to make come true.
It's for you that I live
And all my love, to you, I give.

It's you that I want to make smile,
It's for you that I'd walk that extra mile.
It's you I will always treasure,
My love for you, has no measure.

All these things and more
I will give to you, the one I adore.
And every night I thank them Angels up above,
For sending you for me to love.

Now if you have any doubts as to the way I feel,
I'll erase them all with all my will.
I'll see to it that you always know,
Just how much... I love you so.

Something To Think About

Someone will always be smarter.
Their house will be bigger.
They will drive a better car.
Their children will do better in school.
And their partners will fix more things around the house.
So let it go and love you and your circumstances.
Think about it. The prettiest woman in the world can have hell in her heart.
And the most highly favored woman on your job may be unable to have children.
The richest woman you know -she's got the car, the house, the clothes - might be heartbreakingly lonely.

So, love you. Love who you are right now.
Tell yourself, "I am too blessed to be stressed."
"To the world you might be one person, but to one person you just might be the world."

Get em black heads out!!!

Biore pore packs is a very usefull gadget to get those black heads out from your nose. All you have to do is, give your face and nose a good scrub. Then with a wet nose, paste the pore pack slowly on your nose. Be sure not to get your wet fingers in the pore pack as it'll stick on your finger. It get's very sticky when it touches water.

After 10 minutues, or when pore pack has dried up or harden, slowly tear it off your nose. That's when all your black heads get stuck on the sticker when it's being torn off.

The end it's nice to see the pore pack all full of your black heads sticking out on it. At times it looks gross but then you get that satisfied feeling "ahhh there goes my black heads"

However the new Biore Pore packs I just bought ain't that good. It's not so effective to the old one without the special cuttings at the edge.

It's a cHEeSy deal

Pweeewittt......Someone's older now...and tat's my cousin, FIFI....Happy Birthday to you once again.

And so this time the dugongs didn't do any "one of those surprises" I for myself have retired from it as it's too much of a hassle to get everyone's co operation in it. Moreover the timing of everyone has to be on time if not the surprise would be a total flop. Plus not to forget the money spend on oneself who's organising it. In the end no one remembers to pay back their share of the cake etc. So it comes to a point..."what the heck, let others do the work, while I sit back and relax"

So the dugongs ended up at Pizza Hut in Tesco. Service there was pretty bad. They took so long to take our orders, orders were messed up as we were given a large seafood platter by mistake (we refused to pay for it) and the pizza came late. The workers there don't seem focus on their work. Each and everyone's so busy that they forget about their customers. No system there.

So we planned to order the Cheesy Lava (large one) but Ahma dearest ended up ordering the wrong thing and we ended up with a regular Cheesy lava...but it was still good. One regular cheesy lava, one regular peperoni and a large hawaian. As glutton's only one slice of pizza was spared for my dog. But in the end it ended up in Boo's house.

Here's some pics we took.

After the Cheesy eating session, we decided to hunt down for some mini cornetto ice cream...but we only manage to salvage the mini hazelnut ice cream (not in cone shape). We then headed to Seagate to lepak (hang around) by the beach. Wasn't much as a beach but it was ok since we were all tired and lazy to drive all the way down to Batu Feringhi. Here's some pics.

Have you seen this size before?

Last Sat, Boo treated me for Italian food in Bella Italia just along Belissa row. When we reached it was all full inside, so we had to settle for a table outside. was not bad...we had a ceiling fan just above us so it wasn't stuffy. Boo ordered his Fetucchini Carbonara but he complimented that he prefers my ever famous Bacon and Leek Pasta.

And so I ordered a what you call "Foldover Pizza" When it was served...it looked like a huge Cornish or Curry Puff. Was so huge...wondered how was I to finish it. The filling had creme sauce with Turkey ham, Mushroom and alot of Ricotta Cheese!! Really loved the cheese part.

But I manage to finish it all up. Boo liked the crust area so I gave him most of the crust area. Wanted to settle for dessert, Tiramisu, but was too full.

It was a good dinner. Although the next day it was Gym for me......

Now U See It, Now U Don't

On Tuesday, after an exhausting Tennis trainning by Boo...we stopped by an Indian Barber shop near Transfer Road. This is what i snapped.....

Remember that Chipsmore Add, well I've created one too.....but this time it involves Boo and the Barber and his hair......

Now you see it......
You still see it.......
You still can see half of it.....

Still Half more.......

Received these pictures. It's probably a hoax about what this Restaurant serves, but just take a look at the picture below...DOES IT GET YOU HUNGRY? Bleurgh!!!!!

Tennis Update

Saturday, at 9 am we both played tennis at Heritage. It was good for me, but am not too sure if Boo enjoyed it cos he was teaching me the strokes and picking up my balls all the way. I enjoyed it...but as the time passed it started to get really hot.

Boo is a good tennis player. He used to be the state player last time during his schooling years. But since he moved to Penang, he stopped. He's been trying to start playing tennis again. But I'm no tennis player. We have a few people who have said they would like to play (who can play) but we've had no time to actually plan it. So i guess at the moment...it's to train me up so that in 6 months time, i would be able to at least play a game with my boo.

So we're starting to make this a regular affair. Today we've booked the tennis court, and darn they charge us RM8 bucks per hour for the electricity. Bummer....mornings are free but hot. Night time is not hot but have to pay....aiyo

Satay Babi Anyone??

If you know what i'm talking about, the satay babi located at Bangkok Lane. Then no need to read....but if you have no clue, you've got to be kidding!!!!!Call yourselves true Penangites!!!

You can find him on every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings along Bangkok Lane. He starts selling at around 8. Around lunch time if he still has satay left he'll move over to another destination which i don't know the name of the road.

I started eating this satay since I was small back in my Nanny's house in Green Lane. He use to cycle up his cart in the mornings and I use to get so excited running out with the plate to order his satay. After that he didn't come regularly to Green Lane. Next I found him along Hamilton Road on every Sundays. Use to get my dad to hunt him down after Mass. Then he stopped coming. Thought he had already stop selling. But when i started college faith must have brought me back to him again. Realised he now he sells near my college and Bangkok Lane. Whopppie!!!!

This Satay Babi is not like any other satay. It doesn't have the serai taste. It's totally marinated in a different way. And what's good about his satay, he serves it with sweet potato sauce (not any normal peanut satay sauce) and as a side dish we can have toasted bread soaked in coconut and kunyit. Marvelous!

Every fourth night, he sells intestines. But I have never tried it before. But according to my parents it's very juicy, tender and tasty. Usually it goes like hot cakes and if your lucky you get to have a few sticks.

Broccoli high cholesterol?

Duh!!!!

Just had a silliest remark from one of my colleagues just now while i was indulging in my lunch packed with nothing but Broccoli. As I was enjoying my peace and silence in the pantry, the door opened. Darn it was the last person I would like to talk too. Why cos she asks stupid questions at times, like "wah eating broccoli only. Do you know it's high cholesterol?" I was about to choke on my broccoli at that time. But managed to control my laugh and replied " Oh really, where did you get that info from"...she replies "oh i read it somewhere"....I really wanted to answer her back " read it from one of those email fwd mails or from the pantang's you've heard" Isn't it silly??? Broccoli is one of the healthiest vegetable packed with vitamins and minerals and she says it's high cholesterol. Arrgghhh.... Maybe she may have read it somewhere but missed out on certain important facts for example....Soya is bad for us if we have "Goiter" or "Ghaut", or all forms of beans is bad if we suffer from high Uric Acid. I guess she misses out the important facts and it comes...Soya is bad for us to take often or Beans is not good for us.

Once I was eating alone in the pantry when she walked in and saw i was eating long beans....she asked "wah nice smell, how do you cook it?" Another big DUH....take garlic char char put long beans char char salt pepper and walla, IDIOT!

Won't you get annoyed if you get these stupid questions while eating? Or am i too sensitive. Maybe PMS is kicking in...but i know I just can't stand her most of the times.

It'S FrIdAy

Yes Yes.....I've been waiting the whole week for today. Reason? Cos it's the end of a whole weeks work in the office. It's time to Party babeh!!!!!

This whole week been busy with quotes quotes and nothing but quotes. It gets pretty boring after sometime. But i play around with it. Give myself targets to hit and have interesting ways of doing it, so at the end of the day things just get so easy. Unless if last minute urgent things come in..my whole schedule's messed up.

Had a good compliment from an unexpected arrogant bastard. He's our principle. Always had a hard time dealing with him. But few days ago he spoke to me on the phone and said that I've improved and doing a good job. Said I response very fast. I was so surprised. Then he asked who do I report too..I told him who and joked to him to go and cucuk my boss about my performance. Dunno if he did so?

Gym, has been good. On Tuesday I attended a class called Cardio Abs. Ever since then, I've been paralysed. Hahah no what i mean my back muscles hurt when i squat, get up and even sit to pee. So have been off for 3 days. But today I'm back in action again. Going for a Body Pump Class. It's pretty interesting. It tones up your body. Something i need to tone up all my flabs. After that my arms are going to hurt again. But it's alright....I'm determined to slim down. Diet's still going on well. Except for weekends when I eat something different. But i replace it with Gym on Sunday to sweat out all those calories.

Mum's birthday's coming. I still dunno what to get her and where to go take her makan. Was thinking of some Buffet spots. I'll have to check it out. Talking about buffett me and boo have been twice to Seoul Garden (Basement of Gurney Plaza). The food concept is one of those BBQ Steamboat Affairs. It's quite good. There's alot of choices from raw marinated meats/ fish, Vegetables, Balls, already cooked meats (snapper fish, chips fried chicken) to a wide range of dessert like things from Ice cream to Campur your own ice kacang and fruits. What is nice too is the different variety of drinks to choose from. Lets see there was Green Tea, Peach Tea, Ice lemon Tea, Carbonated drinks, Lemonade and Ribena. We both Whacked till we were so full.....but of course Boo finished first as he eats really FAST! He complains that i eat so slow. I tell him he eats fast. He said no I eat slow...so yea...buffett...I can't enjoy much peace as he's looking and waiting patiently for me to finish eating..Bummer! Tension only
