Sleeping Buddha and Coconut Ice Cream

Last weekend on a Sunday after our lunch, we both had cravings for some cold dessert. First drove to Burmah Road to buy the Mata Kucing drink but stall was closed, then we thought about the coconut ice cream at the sleeping Buddha temple. To our luck the aunty was selling. Ordered each a cup and mine was without the sweet corn. For those who have not tried this, it’s actually coconut flavoured ice cream made in a sorbet like texture. This is a Thai style ice cream. For condiments it is sprinkled with some peanuts, “atap chee” and sweet corn. Taste wise it is like eating frozen up coconut milk which is sweet. A must to try. Another spot that sells this is at Tesco food court from the Thai Stall.

The Coconut Ice cream stall

Small cup RM 1.50, Big cup RM 2.00, Cone RM 1.00

Sat down and enjoyed our ice cream then since Ed had not been in the temple before we went in to check it out (Temple Wat Chaiyamangalaram Thai Buddhist Temple). My great grandmother’s ashes is in here apparently. I remember when small used to follow my grandma here to put flowers.

After this temple we hopped over to the next temple opposite called the Burmese Buddhist Temple. Place had pictures of the journey of Buddha. Pretty interesting statues and stories found in this temple.

Oh and you know what, on the way out we bought another round of Ice Cream!!! hahahaha.
