Shang Palace

Two nights ago, I had my office Sui Kang dinner with the big bosses at a Chinese Restaurant called Shang Palace located in the Bukit Jambul Complex. Restaurant location was rather secluded in the corner near the cinema. There were 5 tables and 56 of us. Each table were served with 8 dishes which you eat together with your steamed white rice. So this is what we had.

Dish 1: Tofu. It was OK

Dish 2: Chicken in some kind of curry paste. It was not nice

Dish 3: Deep fried Squid- It was good.

Dish 4: Pork in some really sweet sauce. Was too sweet that I didn't like it.

Dish 5: Steamed Fish- It was OK

Dish 6: Brocoli with black mushrooms and tofu stipes- OK

Dish 7: Lemak curry prawns in a coconut- very lemak and good

Dish 8: The Dessert- Awfull
It was a hot thick sweet clear liquid with some thinly sliced chestnuts and cooked with egg white. Oh it was awfull. It had a strong egg taste to it. None of us liked it. What kinda dessert is that!!!!

All in all, I give the food we had at this restaurant a 3/10 ratio.

Shang Place actually served quite good food. It depends very much on what you ordered. We never failed to visit during CNY. Next time you should try their baked cheese with seafood or something like that. Can't remember what is the correct name. They have a few signature dishes. They have another branch at Krystal Point. Restaurant is kinda small though but food is not too bad. Most important must order the correct the dish. Next time ask for the boss, Teoh. He will recommend some nice dishes which he personally cook. :)
